Article 1 — Definitions

  1. General Terms and Conditions: these terms and conditions.
  2. User / We / Us: Maut & Vignette B.V., operating as vignetteslovenia.si.
  3. Customer / You: the person who concludes a contract with us.
  4. Consumer: any natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, or profession.
  5. Service: the service offered on vignetteslovenia.si, namely purchasing and registering a Slovenian digital motorway e-vinjeta on your behalf.
  6. Service costs: the amount payable by you, including VAT, for the e-vinjeta and our service fee.
  7. Agreement: the contract for the purchase and registration of a digital motorway e-vinjeta for the Republic of Slovenia.
  8. DARS / Slovenian toll system: the official Slovenian electronic toll system operated by DARS (Družba za avtoceste v Republiki Sloveniji), accessible at evinjeta.dars.si.
  9. E-vinjeta: digital proof of toll payment for a specific vehicle and time period, registered in the DARS national database.
  10. Cooling-off period: the 14-day period during which a consumer may exercise their right of withdrawal.
  11. Withdrawal: exercising your legal right to cancel a distance contract within the cooling-off period.

Article 3 — Applicability

  1. These terms apply to every offer we make and every contract between you and us.
  2. These terms are available on our website before you complete a purchase. You can save or print them at any time.
  3. These terms apply to all customers, including consumers as defined in Book 6, Article 230g of the Dutch Civil Code.

Article 4 — The Agreement

  1. The agreement is concluded when you accept our offer (complete checkout) and meet the conditions (provide valid details and payment).
  2. We will immediately confirm your order electronically.
  3. We use appropriate security measures for electronic payments and data transmission.
  4. With your order confirmation, we provide:
    • Our contact details for questions or complaints
    • Information about your right of withdrawal
    • The total price, including VAT
    • The withdrawal form 

Article 5 — Your Right of Withdrawal (Consumers)

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, as implemented in Dutch law under Articles 6:230o–230z of the Dutch Civil Code, you may cancel within 14 days without giving any reason.

The 14-day cooling-off period begins on the day the contract is concluded, which is the day you complete your order and receive your order confirmation.

Immediate activation and waiver. When you purchase an e-vinjeta, you expressly request that we register it immediately. By completing checkout, you expressly consent to the commencement of the digital service before the withdrawal period has expired, and you acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed.

This exception is in accordance with Article 16(a) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU and Article 6:230p(1)(d) of the Dutch Civil Code, which provide that the right of withdrawal does not apply to service contracts after the service has been fully performed, provided that performance began with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal would be lost.

In practical terms, once your e-vinjeta is registered in the DARS national database, the service is complete and it cannot be "returned" because it is linked to your licence plate in the DARS system.

Article 6 — How to Withdraw

  1. To withdraw, contact us via the Help Centre at vignetteslovenia.si/help, by email to support@vignetteslovenia.si, or using the withdrawal form below.
  2. You must notify us within the 14-day cooling-off period.
  3. By requesting immediate performance of the service (direct registration of your e-vinjeta), you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, i.e. once the e-vinjeta is active in the DARS system.

Note: By requesting immediate performance of the service (direct registration), the Consumer acknowledges that they lose their right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed (the vignette is active).

Article 7 — Refunds

  1. We will acknowledge your withdrawal request promptly.
  2. If eligible for a refund, we will process it within 14 days using your original payment method.
  3. What we may deduct from your refund: 
    • Payment processing fees: Our payment processors (PayPal, card providers, and local payment methods) charge us non-refundable transaction fees. We may deduct these from your refund.
    • Currency conversion fees: If you paid in a currency other than EUR, any conversion fees applied to your original payment are non-refundable and may be deducted from your refund.
  4. Typical payment processor fees range from 1.5 to 3 percent depending on your payment method. Currency conversion fees vary by provider.
    We will confirm the exact refund amount before processing, so there are no surprises. Refunds are otherwise free of charge.

Article 8 — When Withdrawal Is Not Possible

  1. You cannot withdraw after the service has been fully performed if:
    • You expressly requested immediate performance (registration of your e-vinjeta).
    • You acknowledged that you waive your withdrawal right once registration is complete.
  2. Both conditions are confirmed during checkout.

Article 9 — Prices

  1. Our prices include:
    • The official Slovenian e-vinjeta toll fee (as set by DARS at evinjeta.dars.si).
    • Our service fee for registration and support.
  2. All prices include VAT.
  3. The total price is shown before you pay, with no hidden fees.

Article 10 — Our Guarantee

  1. We guarantee that your e-vinjeta will be correctly registered in the DARS national database.
  2. Fine guarantee: If you receive a DARS fine due to an error on our part, we will:
    • Refund the cost of your e-vinjeta.
    • Cover the fine amount (DARS fines for driving without a valid e-vinjeta are typically around €300).
  3. This guarantee applies only to errors caused by us. It does not apply to errors in information you provided, such as an incorrect licence plate number, wrong country of registration, or wrong vehicle category.

Article 11 — Delivery

  1. We register your e-vinjeta in the DARS system as quickly as possible, typically within minutes of payment. You will receive:

    • An email with your order details.
    • A second email with your PDF confirmation once registration is complete.
  3. Your e-vinjeta is valid from the start date you selected.

Article 12 — Payment

  1. Payment is due immediately at checkout.
  2. You must ensure the details you provide (licence plate, country of registration, vehicle category, email) are accurate.
  3. If you notice an error, contact us immediately via the Help Centre.

Article 13 — Correcting Mistakes

  1. Before your e-vinjeta becomes active: you can change your licence plate number, country of registration, and vehicle category. Contact us via the Help Centre and we will guide you through it.
  2. After your e-vinjeta becomes active: changes are no longer possible. Once the e-vinjeta is active in the DARS system, the details are locked and cannot be amended. This is a DARS system limitation, not a company policy.
  3. If you discover an error after activation, contact support immediately with your order reference so we can advise on next steps.

Article 14 — Complaints

  1. Complaints should be submitted via our Help Centre at vignetteslovenia.si/help.
  2. Describe your complaint clearly and include your order number.
  3. We will respond within 14 days. If we need more time, we will let you know.
  4. EU Online Dispute Resolution. If you are an EU consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you can use the European Commission's ODR platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Article 15 — Liability

  1. We are liable for damages caused by our failure to properly register your e-vinjeta, subject to Article 10 (Fine guarantee).
  2. We are not liable for:
    • Errors caused by incorrect information you provided (including licence plate, country of registration, or vehicle category).
    • Issues with the DARS toll system that are outside of our control.
    • Fines incurred before your e-vinjeta's validity period.
    • Fines incurred after your e-vinjeta's validity period has expired.
    • Consequential damages beyond the fine guarantee.

Article 16 — Privacy

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on thePrivacy Policy page. We comply with GDPR and do not sell your data.

Article 17 — Applicable Law

  1. These terms are governed by Dutch law.
  2. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection laws of your country.
